Established in 1999. Based in Minnedosa, Manitoba, Canada, Mediplan Health (RxNorth) began when two University of Manitoba pharmacy program graduates recognized the value of using technology to extend good service and fair pricing for prescription medication beyond Main Street.

Not only were we the first to enter this market space, to the best of our knowledge we are the largest. We have recently filled our one-millionth prescription! We filled every prescription without experiencing a single incident of any patient receiving unsatisfactory medication as prescribed by a licensed doctor and delivered by our pharmacy. This outstanding service record has earned RxNorth the distinction of being Canada’s largest and most respected mail order pharmacy.
In advancing the legitimacy and professional standards in this industry -
Our founder, Andrew Strempler, and co-owner, Mark Rzepka, were active in the founding of the Manitoba International Pharmacy Association (MIPA). Since most of the pharmacies entering into the international mail-order business were originating in the Province of Manitoba we wanted to ensure all those serving this market were doing so in a professional and ethical manner. Mark still sits on the Board of Directors.
When the Province of Manitoba took a leadership role to ensure the international mail order pharmacy industry was effective and operated with high standards, they arranged for a nationally renowned mediator to develop consensus amongst the key stakeholders. Mediplan was the only pharmacy that participated in the negotiations, along with the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association and the Manitoba International Pharmacy Association.
